Gujaratis perform Garba on landslide-hit road in Uttarakhand. Video is viral

A group of tourists from Gujarat, stranded on a scenic Uttarakhand road due to a landslide, decided to make the most of their delay by breaking into an impromptu Garba performance. A video of the spirited dance was shared on social media and has since gone viral.
Uttarakhand has been experiencing heavy rainfall, which triggered a massive landslide on the Dharchula-Tawaghat National Highway near Chaitalkot in Pithoragarh district on September 15. The highway was closed for traffic, leaving several passengers stranded.
The video, documented and shared by Viraj Gorasia on X, shows the group dancing their way through the hold-up while en route to Gangotri.

Despite the inconvenience, this group kept their spirits high. “Navratri ki taiyari already (They are practising for Navratri already), a user said, while another added, “That is why ‘vibrant’ suits Gujarat so well.”
Several users were quick to praise the group’s dedication to their culture. “A true passion for culture can never be hidden,” a user said.

Efforts to clear the debris are currently underway to restore vehicular movement on the affected stretch of the highway. However, while the road to Gangotri may be blocked, the road to the celebration certainly wasn’t for this lively bunch.
